Wedding Hive Event=Total Success

Sorry for my lack of blogging this week lovelies, but I was running around like a crazy person getting ready for the Wedding Hive event.  Thank goodness it was all worth it, we had an amazing turn out, a fantastic fashion show, and I got to meet some great new peeps!

I can't say thank you enough to all the people that helped me personally with this event. I have to say thanks to my mom, sister, and aunt for volunteering to greet guests at the front door, and helping me pack up my stuff.  To my husband who bears with me for weeks as I let housework, cooking, and everything else go by the wayside while I prepare for the show, and also for helping me carry the millions of things to and from my car, and dealing with the post-show clean up, when in his words our living room "looks like an episode of 'Hoarders'".  To Jamie, Jeanee, and Erin for taking almost a whole day out of their time to look pretty and model my work.  To Betsy for saying yes to a last minute monumental favor.  To Marissa who was sick as a dog, but stuck it out to help the fashion show turn out as a success.  And to all of my friends who came out and showed their support for me and the Hive.  I love all of you!

And of course to all the Core members of the Wedding Hive for letting me participate and whole heartedly welcoming me into your group, and for busting ass to make this a success for all the other members of the Hive!

Here's a few snaps that I took at the show, and trust me, there will be much more to come:

Down to the Wire

Hello lovelies.  This weekend was cold (as you may well know), cozy, and productive.  I spent most of my time indoors working diligently for this Thursdays show.  I'm excited about what I've been making, although with all my other obligations I haven't gotten nearly as much done as I had hoped, but isn't that always the way it goes?  I'll be showcasing a few of my pieces in a fashion show with other talented Wedding Hive designers. Plus with this show being a wedding affair I'm going to be creating lots of flower arrangements to fill up my display table as well.

I hope to see you all there, I'll have some new wares for sale, but if you can't make it I'll have lots of visual treats for you post show.

This piece can be described as nothing short of a labor of love.  I told Matt last night that I might have to keep it for myself, as I've put so much work into it.  Now I know why couture beading is so outrageously priced!

Happy Monday!

Procrastination posting?

Happy Saturday everyone. I am trying to take some time today to quiet my buzzing mind, get some work done, and relax before the mayhem that is my next weeks schedule.

In other news, Matt loves curling, and by loves I mean is obsessed with it.

And also Hazel says "Hi!"

Fat Tuesday, Ash Wednesday

Hope you all had a fabulous Fat Tuesday, and did something fun to celebrate!  Now on to the season of denial as those of us who are Catholics enter into Lent.  What the heck is Lent, you might be wondering?  Think of it as a second chance at a new years resolution.  40 days and nights of giving up something that you really love in preparation for the Easter season.

This year I've decided to give up sugar and sweets, and to start exercising everyday. It's going to be so tough, especially considering my lack of will power.  But a girl can always look right?

Blog Crush: green wedding shoes

I'm back!  Vacation was lovely, and we had such a good time, but I'm happy to be home again and getting back to work.

The Wedding Hive is gearing up for it's annual event February 25th in Kansas City.  We've been searching for hair and make-up inspiration for the fashion show, and I stumbled upon what I would consider one of the most lovely wedding blogs I've ever seen green wedding shoes.  As someone in the wedding industry, it's so important for me to stay current with what's happening, and I find this blog so inspiring that I wish wedding season started tomorrow.  So well edited with the best photos and creative weddings.

Here's a few of my favorites, but visit the site to find more delicious images.

Spring 2010: preview

I'm working this year on trying to create a cohesive line of products for different seasons.  Not only will this force me to come up with ideas and create work, but it also brings my audience what they've never had before, a limited edition of emmy-ray products.  I'm also trying to get into the wedding market, and as one of my readers requested "offer more bridal options".

Here's a little preview of one of my favorite new items:

Postcard from Florida

Hello, I hope you have had a good week.  Don't hate me, but I'm soaking up the sun, sand, and waves in Boca Raton, Florida.  Compared to the weather we're having in Kansas City right now it's, well, downright tropical here.  A postcard for you my lovelies:
