"An Apple a Day", and other new items

Hello lovelies, and happy hump day to you all.  Of course 4th of July is coming up this weekend, what are you going to do to celebrate it?  Fireworks are some of my favorites, and of course any excuse to get together with friends and family to celebrate is always welcome.

I've been a busy bee creating work for last weekends Honeypot Shop and now I'm posting some of my unsold items on Etsy.  I did a little photo shoot with my bad self yesterday.  Look for new items everyday in my shop, here's a little taste of what's already up:

Etsy Love: Brightly Colored Dots of Light

Whilst I was trying to catch up on my incredibly backed up Google reader last night I came across this image from Kingdom of Style.

These are strings of lights with hand made cotton balls that act as lanterns from Cable and Cotton.  You can order different size and color balls, even customize them.  They inspired me to create a new Etsy showcase all about dots of color.  Enjoy these hand made goodies!

Happy Blogoversary to the Concrete Catwalk

Although my week is packed to the gills with things to do, it would be silly of me not to mention that my dear friend Jessie of the Concrete Catwalk is celebrating her blogs one year anniversary this week.  And how is she celebrating you might be asking?  Well my lovelies, she's found some super cool sponsors to give away prizes on her site, one of them being yours truly.

Go to her site right now and leave a comment on any of the prize posts to be entered for a chance to win, plus check out the rest of her blog all about Kansas City street style.  Find my post here and you could win this enameled key lariat necklace, but hurry and enter today, comments close on June 29th.  Good luck!

Drowning in Flowers and Jewelry

It has finally happened, I've lost my will to blog!  I never thought I'd see the day lovelies, but I'm one wiped out woman.  I love doing weddings more than I can say, each one is an opportunity to express myself creatively through the medium of flowers.  I spent the weekend in Lincoln, Nebraska working on a wedding for sweet Joanna and Andy.  It was a big job and I had to do it without the help of my lovely assistant/mother, but Matt was there to keep me going, quite literally.  Thanks my love I couldn't have done it without you.  Everything went smoothly and the flowers were so beautiful, I can't wait to see all the pictures, which of course I will share with you.  Plus to top it off it was one of the funnest receptions I've been to so far this year, lots and lots of dancing (my favorite).

This week is jam packed, as it is the opening of a new show at ARTichokes, including new jewelry from your truly, and also the Honeypot Shop this weekend.  I am so excited for the event, meeting new designers and crafters around K.C. is what it's all about.  I've made so many cool crafty lady friends.  Check out some of the wares from each of our vendors below and I hope to see your shining faces at the event:

Ink Magazine Craft Challenge Results

***Edit: This morning after writing this I discovered that I was on the cover of Ink as well as the Kansas City Star.  Awesome!***

Remember when I mentioned the Ink Magazine Craft Challenge I was participating in?  Five local artists/crafters were given a bag of everyday items to create whatever we wanted.  I didn't want to spoil the surprise of what I made, but the article is up on INK's website, so I thought I'd go ahead and share with you lovelies.  Not sure if they are going to be picking a winner, but I had so much fun participating, and I always love seeing what other creative minds come up with.  Here's some pics, but find the whole article on Ink's website.  Thanks to Monica Watrous of Ink for choosing me!

For the Love of Flowers: Angie and Steve

Hello loves, I thought I'd share some pics with you today from my biggest wedding to date.  Since it's my second year in the flower business I hadn't yet done a big hotel event.  However for my friends Angie and Steve I was willing to give it a shot, and they were a super laid back couple to work with, with a simple palette of white, black, and hot pink.  It was hard work, but everything turned out beautifully, and the bride and groom were glowing on their special day.
