Holiday Honeypot Shop

This weekend is my last holiday event of the year, and I'm also helping put it together.  It's the Holiday Honeypot Shop, and I'm very excited.  I hope it goes off without a hitch.  We have an awesome group of vendors, an amazing event space, and some sweet tunes.  This year I've made a promise to myself to buy most of my gifts local and hand made to help support other artists and designers like myself, and I've been eyeing a few products from the vendors that will be in attendance.

If you're a local Kansas Citian, please come check it out, and help us make this event a success!  See the website for a complete list of vendors and a peek at all their lovely wares: Honeypot Shop Blog

Holiday Shopping Madness!

Trust me, I'm not one for skipping over Thanksgiving.  It's one of my absolute favorite holidays of the year (probably because I like to eat so much), but with the month of November comes shopping season and emmy-ray has lots of shows lining up, so I thought it prudent to share a few:

Girls Night 2010
This one's coming up on Thursday, and it's my first time participating.  However the ARTichokes crew is such a great bunch, I think it'll be lots of fun.

The second holiday Ric Rac Roundup is coming!  Last year was super successful, and I got some fun new holiday decorations for my table display.

Honeypot Shop Dec 2010
The Honeypot Shop is a group I'm involved with via the Wedding Hive.  It's become a separate off shoot and will focus on supporting local Kansas City artists, designers, and indie businesses.  I'm really excited about this project and show, we have an awesome bunch of vendors.

So if you're a local gal, I hope to see you at maybe one of these events.  Come out, show your support, shop local, shop hand made!

The Honeypot Shop: photos from the event

The Honeypot Shop event was this past weekend, and despite the raging heat (hottest day of the year so far), and being up against the World Cup U.S. game and the Royals vs. Cards we had a decent turn out.  New shows are always tough to gage, but for it's first time I feel that is was fairly successful.  If nothing else I had such a good time with all my fellow artists, and designers and even made a few new business connections/friends.  Seeing what my other peers do and make always inspires me to work harder on developing my own business.  Here are lots of lovely pics from the event taken by the Wedding Hive member Melissa Lin Ellis.

Thanks again Melissa Lin for capturing the day for us!  If you missed the Honeypot Shop come see me at the Ric Rac Roundup, July 24th in the parking lot next to bon bon atelier.  I'll be rolling out a whole new batch of hand made goodness just for you!

Drowning in Flowers and Jewelry

It has finally happened, I've lost my will to blog!  I never thought I'd see the day lovelies, but I'm one wiped out woman.  I love doing weddings more than I can say, each one is an opportunity to express myself creatively through the medium of flowers.  I spent the weekend in Lincoln, Nebraska working on a wedding for sweet Joanna and Andy.  It was a big job and I had to do it without the help of my lovely assistant/mother, but Matt was there to keep me going, quite literally.  Thanks my love I couldn't have done it without you.  Everything went smoothly and the flowers were so beautiful, I can't wait to see all the pictures, which of course I will share with you.  Plus to top it off it was one of the funnest receptions I've been to so far this year, lots and lots of dancing (my favorite).

This week is jam packed, as it is the opening of a new show at ARTichokes, including new jewelry from your truly, and also the Honeypot Shop this weekend.  I am so excited for the event, meeting new designers and crafters around K.C. is what it's all about.  I've made so many cool crafty lady friends.  Check out some of the wares from each of our vendors below and I hope to see your shining faces at the event:
