Saturday Matinee: Ruche Spring Lookbook

I'm sure everyone has seen the lovely images from the latest Ruche Spring Lookbook.  I have to say that I'm not gonna lie one of my favorite things about the whole shoot are the giant flowers, but eveyrthing about it is dreamy and totally inspiring.

Saturday Matinee: Finger Painting

I found this clip over on The Daily What, one of my favorite Tumblr pages (yes I have one of those too, don't be jealous).  His work is of course a little Bob Ross like, but hey, who doesn't love old Bob?  I am amazed at the speed and agility he posses in his little fingers.  Pretty incredible...

Saturday Matinee: Peggy Noland

I was browsing the internets the other day (yes I said internetS, get over it), and I came across this lovely little clip of Peggy Noland, talking about how she started working in fashion, and started her store.  I think my favorite thing about it is not only that she, along with the clothes she makes are visually interesting, but her positive attitude is totally infections and inspiring.  Hooray for Kansas City!

Saturday Matinee: Geeks or Posers?

I have to admit I've always been curious about Comi-Con.  I dabbled in super-hero's as a kid, Batman and X-men were my favorite cartoons on TV.  However my geek quotient definitely went up when I started dating and married Matt.  I probably know way too much about action movies, and comics than the average woman I'm friends with.  I love this video calling out celebrities on not being real "geeks" and was actually pretty proud to find that I knew all but one of the answers to the questions.  Rock on geeks, rock on.

Saturday Matinee: Donna's Dress Shop

If you live in Kansas City, you're a woman, and you love vintage, you absolutely need to go to Donna's Dress Shop.  And you don't just have to love vintage either, she features new clothing as well, and her shop is just too lovely and adorable not to be seen.  Here's a video all about Donna, her business, and why she loves doing what she does...

Saturday Matinee: My Drunk Kitchen

So, I already posted this on my Facebook, but I just love it soooooo much that I had to re-post for Saturday Matinee.  Of course I wouldn't endorse drunk cooking, much too dangerous for a spaz like myself (I prefer a Taco Bell or McDonald's run), but the editing is pretty genius, and who doesn't like to watch drunk people acting silly?

Which reminds me, I need to get on editing another episode of "The Fountains".

Saturday Matinee: Two Door Cinema Club

One of my favorite parts about waking up early in the morning (other than grabbing coffee with Matt) is watching AMTV while I work on the computer.  About a month ago I came across this little gem by Two Door Cinema Club, and it was love at first listen.  Plus how cute are the dancers, and their primary color outfits?  Makes me want to get up and dance every time.

Saturday Matinee: Improv Everywhere

Sometimes I wish I lived in New York so I could witness/take part in some of Improv Everywheres super fun pranks and stunts.  I guess for now I'll just live vicariously through their videos.  Here's a few of my favorites.

So much fun!

Saturday Matinee: Hipster Shore

Oh Hipsters...whether you love them or hate them, you could certainly appreciate this funny spoof video by the comedy group Family Sandwich.

(Please be warned that this video does contain some swearing).

Also you may recognize the character "Sam".  She's the lovely Heidi, one of my friends from high school and I also did her wedding flowers back in August.  If you like the video you can vote it "Funny" on the Funny or Die website.  Show them some love!

Saturday Matinee: Olek

There's been a lot of buzz out there lately about fiber artist Olek.  You probably have seen her most recent work, the darling Wall Street Bull:

Bull-by-olek-front-pic

I am a huge fan of knit and crochet graffiti.  We have a group her in Kansas City, Knit Happens, that did a few light poles in my neighborhood.  They always made me so happy when I'd drive by them.  They haven't done any new work for awhile, get on it guys!

I did a little more research on Olek and found some more of her awesome work.  So here's a few videos and some of my favorite images from her website

Saturday Matinee: 2010 wrap up videos

Who doesn't love a good video?  And with all the media that's available there's something out there for everyone.  Every Saturday I'll be posting a video that I am loving right now, whether it's inspiring, nostalgic, personal, or just plain silly.

p.s. I meant to do this last Saturday, but had some technical difficulties, so this week you're getting a twofer.  Enjoy!

Video One:  Club Drunk Party Hands

It's no secret I'm a sucker for pop music.  If it's got a beat, and I can dance to it I love it (no matter how bad it is).  Here's a fun mash-up I found via a friend on Facebook, it puts me in the mood to party!

Video Two: Thanks for the Memories

My 2010 video wrap up of some of the moments and events from last year.  I love collecting memories for my family and friends, and making videos is one of my favorite ways to share them.
