Our First Thanksgiving

Hello lovelies.  Monday again, and I have to admit all I've been doing since Thanksgiving is slugging around the house with Matt and the pups.  This year was our first time hosting a joint dinner with our families.  It was a lot of work, but fortunately went off without a hitch.  I love almost every holiday, but this is one of my favorites because it's all about two of my many favorite things: food and family.

How did you celebrate the holiday?

I embroidered felt leaves into napkins rings that were also place cards for everyone in our family.  My mom kept calling me "Martha" because of all my little DIY, crafty additions.

For a centerpiece I sewed a runner with fabric from bon bon atelier, put red roses and berries in mason jars, and used coordinating candles to finish everything off.  I kept the table linens simple with a vintage white lace number over a solid rust color.  The dishes were all white, and the napkins added a pop of color.

Hope you had a fantastic holiday, and a super lazy weekend.  I know we did..

Dreaming of a White Christmas

Happy Monday everyone. This weekend was super busy, but in the best way. Starting on Thursday with the Ric Rac Roundup, the bi-annual craft show put on by the lovely ladies at bon bon atelier. I had fun hanging with some of my favorite crafty KC ladies, and sold work to both new and old customers.

Saturday was the "Night of Style" presented by Speak Salon and Style and Pepper. For that event I created a mock table display showcasing some fun flower arrangements. Again a great (and stylish) group of ladies.

After looking at my pictures I realized I definitely lean toward whites with pops of bright color when it comes to holiday displays. I've got one more holiday event still to come. More details later this week...

Blog Crush: Studio Choo

I was told to check out Studio Choo's floral design by my sweet friend Jessie.  I have to say that I've been drooling over their blog every since.  They have a group shop called the Prarie Collective in San Francisco, that carries lots of lovely items besides fresh flowers.  I love their floral design style, and when I grow up I want to have a beautiful shop just like them.  Seriously, check them out.  No do it, like right now!

Ric Rac Roundup time!

Today is the holiday Ric Rac Roundup, and I'm so excited.  I've been busting butt this week to crank out some final new jewelry designs so that I can have a nice full display and lots of goodies for people to choose from.  If you are in Kansas City you should come to this FREE event and buy local and handmade gifts for all your friends and family this year.

For the Love of Flowers: Blue, Green, and White

This wedding season it's been easy to see the trends as I look back on all the work we've done.  One thing we've had a lot of this year has been cool colors like purples, blues, and greens.  This weekend we had two weddings and they were no exception:

There aren't many blue flowers in nature, but these delphiniums and iris take the cake!
