For the Love of Flowers: Corinne and Jimmy
I met Corinne through a fabulous former client (thanks Carrie). She and Jimmy were having a very small family event, with their ceremony at Loose Park, and an at home reception. She came to me with beautiful swatches of paper from Paper Source in Fig and Sage and said she wanted lots of texture in her flowers. Thankfully fall is a wonderful time of year for textural flowers, and I used beautiful plum dahlias, and coxcomb, green trick, and scabiosa pods. I got creative with the bouquet wraps using fig and sage ribbon from Paper Source along with jute, and some raw silk from Midori. Thanks so much to Corinne and Jimmy for letting us be a part of your special day, your flowers were so fun to create.

For the Love of Flowers: Lindsay and Warren
Lindsay was one of the "easy" brides of the 2011 wedding season. The sister of my husbands good friend from law school I instantly felt she was going to be great to work with. It didn't hurt that she'd already been in a wedding I'd worked on previously (Erin and Matt's from back in the spring, which I never posted about for some reason, stay tuned for that one). Lindsay wanted purple in all different shades, and basically gave us total freedom to create and design. Here's what we came up with for her and Warren's day...
We got lucky that weekend with some gorgeous plum colored ranunculus and dahlias.

This may or may not have been a fake "working" picture...
I also collaborated with Lindsay to create a custom pearl and rhinestone brooch and ostrich feather fascinator that she added to her hair after the ceremony for a little bit of fun.

A big thank you to Lindsay and Warren for letting me be a part of your big day, and to Sarah Dickerson Photography for her lovely shots.
cheers, emmy-ray
