Phonography: January 2012

For 2012 we rang in the new year with nothing less than a rocking Festivus party.  It felt good to get back into the swing of tradition, and to spend the New Years holiday with all the people we love so much.  The rest of January continued in the normal fashion: food, parties, dog pictures, craft projects.

The ever popular Airing of Grievances for the year.

Airing of Grievances.

Hazel.  Doesn't she look like she knows a secret in this picture?  Or is just annoyed, yes, probably that one.

Hazel, mini dachshund.

My adorable niece Emma (not technically a niece, she's my second cousin, but that's too complicated).

Emma.

First wedding of 2012, Melissa and Ben (see the rest of their flowers here).

White bridal bouquet, purple bridesmaids bouquets.

A wedding show at Californo's.  I always love doing these, talking to couples, and getting a chance to play with whatever flowers I want.

Participated in an Instagram Photo A Day Challenge for the month.  Got some fun shots that I wouldn't normally take.

Vintage brooch.

Created some ombre glitter shoes, which coincidentally has become one of the most viewed posts on my blog to date.  It was a fun project, and one that I think people love because it's an easy way to spice up an old pair of shoes.

Made a new recipe from a sweet friend.  Never used tomatillos before, but I like them now!

Tomatillos and tomatoes.

Just two more months of Phonography, then I'll be all caught up!

Phonography: December 2011

December is definitely down time for weddings, but it turned out to be a super crazy month because I was trying to play catch up with all the projects I put off throughout the year.  Plus it's the holidays, which means lots of social gatherings and projects.

Miniature dachshunds.
Little nuggets. I can't tell you how many dog pictures I take. It's too many...

Christmas decorations.
Decorated for the holidays right after Thanksgiving. I like to be able to leave these decorations up as long as possible.

Purple hair.
I got some purple in my hair. Totally temporary with Color Bug hair chalk.

Pipe cleaner Christmas trees.
Made my first trip to Nell Hills and found these little cuties.

Awkward Family Pet Photos.
White Elephant gift that I couldn't pass up. It was a hit.

Hexagon tiled backsplash.
Tiled the backsplash in our upstairs bathroom. I'm so handy (not really, it was super easy).

Phonography: November Part I

November was the month that I finally downloaded instagram to my iPhone.  Needless to say things got out of hand very quickly, so I divided this post into two parts...

Peonies returned to the wholesalers. Happy day, they are my favorites!

IMG_0096
I participated in the "Girls Night Out" holiday show at a local gallery ARTichokes selling some of my jewels.

The very, very last yellow rose from my garden.

Tried some new beer. I'm not gonna lie I mostly picked it because of the name (and I love Goose Island's brews).

Experimented with some fleurs.
