Real Weddings: Kelli and Nathan, Stoney Point Hall

Kelli is pretty adorable.  Everytime we met, she was nothing but smiles and a total joy to work with.  I'd never worked at the Stony Point Hall before, it was quite a ways away, but such a fun and unique venue.  She and Nathan were lucky enough to have a gorgeous September day for their outdoor ceremony.  With ivories, greens, and bright pops of cobalt blue her flowers were colorful, and and classic all at the same time.  Lovely pictures by epaga foto, and emmy-ray.

To make Kelli's bouquet special it was the only one we added bright blue delphinium to.  The green and ivory of the bridesmaids bouquets was set of beautifully by their cobalt blue dresses.

Kelli gave us sweet charms with photos of her grandparents to add to her bouquet.

The mens bouts were made up of a white ranunculus (our favorite bout flower) babies breath, greens, and a little blue delphinium just for Nathan, the groom, to match Kelli's bouquet.

We decorated the existing ceremony arch with sprays of green, ivory, and bright blue flowers that coordinated with the bouquets and arrangements.  It was quite an idealic backdrop for the couples vows.  

We placed a damask patterned lime green linen on the head table along with blue vintage mason jars collected by the bride for all the bridesmaids bouquets.

There were two types of arrangements for the reception.  One was a simple tall arrangement full of babies breath.  The other a mix of milk glass and cobalt blue vases, all collected by the bride.  Our lime green mulit-patterned linens add an extra layer of color to each table.  Blue uplighting at Stony Point Hall complimented the decor.

Real Weddings: Laura and Ryan, Town Pavillion, Kansas City

I've known Laura since she was a kid, and when I say that I mean a very little kid.  I went to gradeschool with her older brother Brian, and we were in Kindergarten together, so picture that.  So you can imagine how thrilled I was when she and her awesome mom (who my mom also grew up with) contacted me to create beautiful flowers for her day.  I hadn't seen her in years, and it was bit shocking to me that she was getting married, but how exciting!  At our initial consult Laura made it clear that she loved hydrangeas, and so it was a must have in her flowers.  With hues of royal blue, green, and yellow, we created a sunny, colorful event and it made it even more special with our history.  Thank you so much to Laura and Ryan for letting us be a part of your day!

For her bridesmaids bouquets we added bright blue delphinium to compliment their dresses, and went with softer tones for Laura.

We create custom charms for Laura using photos of her grandparents, which were attached to a special rosary.  

Bouts were a bright textural mix, including all the colors of the wedding.

The Town Pavillion where they held their reception, has a dramatic staircase as the focal point of the room.  We created large arrangements for each side that were uplit with blue.  

A classic unfussy mix of tall and short arrangements were placed on the tables, with a mix of colorful blooms and curly willow.

Real Weddings: Sarah and Drew at River Market Event Place in Kansas City

Sarah and Drew's wedding was one we almost didn't get to be a part of.  Due to their work schedules the date got moved around a few times, and fortunately they chose July, a month that's not crazy popular for weddings.  I'm so thrilled that they did, because it was such a fun event to be a part of and I wouldn't have wanted to miss out.  Bright beautiful blues, corals, and oranges with just a touch of green and peach were the main colors of the day.  The flowers that came in for their event couldn't have been more perfect, a lovely eclectic mix of colors and textures.  We also got to use our ever popular grey and white linens.  I'll take a good chevron any day of the week.  I also created custom bowties for Sarah's ring bearers, and floral crowns for her beautiful flower girls.  Their reception was at River Market Event Place, and the photos are courtesy of the ever talented Morgan of Cornerstone Photography.

Bouquets were a colroful mix of blue hydrangea and delphinium, orange dahlias, daisy fever few, thistle, coral spray roses, and one of my very favorite flowers of the year, free spirit roses.  

Textural, colorful boutonniers with coral spray roses, blue delphinium, thistle, and green hypericum. 

The floral crowns were made up of orange dahlias, coral spray roses, blue delphinium, and just a bit of green hypericum berry.  

It was crazy hot, so the bridesmaids and Sarah kept their bouquets in the mason jars we use for delivery so they wouldn't wilt during the outdoor ceremony.  A quirky and fun touch to their event!

At River Market Event Place they have magnet strips in the wood wall, perfec for creating fun installations.  We created magnetic flowers, and hung bud vases all along the wall for a unique focal point behind the head table.  

Cory and Josh's Kansas Real Wedding, June 2012

Cory was one of the most laid back brides I've ever worked with.  We started planning her wedding while she was out of town, exchanging e-mails and inspiration, and then I sent her a proposal without ever meeting her in person.  She wanted something fun, and just a touch rustic/wildflowery to match the surroundings of her wedding in Olathe, Kansas.  Bright sunshine yellow and a bit of ivory were the perfect compliment to the teal blue accents that ran throughout her event.  Like Cory the reception space was decorated in a laid back manner, and we used our vintage screen as a backdrop for her outdoor ceremony. Emily and Will's River Market Event Place Real Wedding, June 2012

There's so much I could say about Emily and Will's wedding, but the word that I think sums it up best is collaboration.  Emily is creative, or at least she had a true vision of what she wanted her day to look like.  I was thrilled to work with a client who gave us so much creative freedom.  She wanted lots and lots of colors, and we used our very favorite glassware, which we started collecting especially for her event.  I think the thing that I liked best about her bouquets and arrangements was the variety of color, and texture.  Tons of different blooms and elements, and we had a lot of fun creating the backdrop for her ceremony at the River Market Event Place as well.  Pictures by one of our favorite photo ladies, Melissa Lin Ellis.
